４月は、生産者コミュニティとの関係構築、連携体制の強化、そしてエクアドル・アマゾンにおける持続可能で森林保全型のバリューチェーン構築に向けた重要な月となりました。

５月のお客様視察受け入れに向けて

４月の中心的な取り組みの一つが、５月に予定していた重要なお客様と支援者による視察訪問の準備でした。

「みんなで育てるカカオの森（Mi Primera Chakra）」プロジェクトの運営者であるVANILLA BEANSと、佐藤清隆教授、上野聡教授、河田昌子博士を迎えるため、キチュア族のコミュニティやパートナー機関と一緒に、チャクラ（伝統的アグロフォレストリー）システム、持続可能なカカオ生産、コミュニティが主導する森林保全の取り組みを現地でお見せするための日程調整とロジスティクス手配を進めました。

カカオの確保と農家のモチベーション

同時期に、ママノチョコレートは今後の製造に向けた十分な量の高品質カカオの確保に成功しました。質の高さ、透明性、そして長期的な協働を評価する直接取引のバリューチェーンに参加することで、農家たちが前向きに取り組んでくれている状況が見られるのは、大変心強いことです。

ワイルドカカオ（野生カカオ）の調達

ワイルドカカオの調達は、ママノの重要な取り組みの一つです。収穫地がアマゾンの奥深い森林地域に位置しているため、調整作業は複雑になります。４月も、現地の技術者とともに定期的な買い付け活動とコミュニティとの連絡体制を継続しました。

Wiñak組合との専売契約を締結

４月の大きなマイルストーンとなったのが、ワイルドカカオの商業化に関して、アソシアシオン・アグロアルテサナル・ウィニャク（Asociación Agroartesanal Wiñak）との専売契約を締結したことです。この契約により、森林保全への長期投資、品質向上、そして希少な森林産物としてのカカオの持続可能な市場アクセスを、より強固に支える体制が整いました。

品質管理とその他の取り組み

あわせて、保管スペースの衛生管理と害虫の予防措置を通じた品質管理・保管条件の改善を継続しました。

また、コーヒー、バニラ、マカンボ、ピーナッツなど、多様な農産物の生産者とも調整を進め、将来の共同出荷と多様なアグロフォレストリー産品の提供に向けた準備を行いました。

おわりに

２０２６年４月を通じて、ママノチョコレートは、環境責任を果たし、社会的に持続可能で透明性の高いバリューチェーンの構築、そしてアマゾンにおける森林保全と農村の生計向上の両立への取り組みを、変わらず推し進めてきました。

Mamano Chocolate April 2026

April was an important month for strengthening relationships, improving coordination with producer communities, and continuing the development of sustainable and conservation-oriented value chains in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

One of the main focuses during the month was the preparation of the upcoming May visit of an important customer and supporter of the “Mi Primera Chakra” project. Together with communities and partners, we coordinated field visits and logistics to help share the work being developed around chakra-based agroforestry systems, sustainable cacao production, and community-led conservation.

At the same time, Mamano Chocolate successfully secured sufficient quantities of high-quality cacao for future production. It continues to be encouraging to see farmers motivated to participate in direct value chains that recognize quality, transparency, and long-term collaboration.

A particularly important area of work remains wild cacao (“cacao silvestre”). Sourcing this cacao requires significant coordination, as harvesting communities are located in remote forest areas. During April, we continued working with local technicians supporting regular purchasing trips and communication with communities.

An important milestone during the month was advancing an exclusivity arrangement with Asociación Agroartesanal Wiñak regarding the commercialization of wild cacao. This helps strengthen long-term investments in conservation, quality improvement, and sustainable market access connected to these unique forest products.

We also continued efforts related to quality management and storage conditions, including maintaining clean storage spaces and improving protection against insects through preventive measures.

In parallel, coordination continued with producers of coffee, vanilla, macambo, and peanuts in preparation for future combined shipments and diversified agroforestry product offerings.

Overall, April 2026 reflected Mamano Chocolate’s continued commitment to building environmentally responsible, socially sustainable, and transparent value chains that support both forest conservation and rural livelihoods in the Amazon.
